Lil Jon New Universal Republic Record Deal
It doesn’t matter if you read crunk and disorderly or just enjoy crunk label songs Lil Jon is the reason the word is so popular.
It’s that reason that Universal Republic has signed the Crunk King to a major label deal. That move will have him producing and participating in A&R duties too.
“Lil Jon is a larger than life figure who casts a giant shadow over every facet of the entertainment business,” Universal Republic CEO Monte Lipman said. “His name is synonymous with brand-building and we want him plugged into multiple Universal Republic platforms for maximum results. I view him as our Urban Music Czar!”
2009 is the year that he will try and follow the album sale numbers of his Crunk Juice which dropped in 2005. Whatever he does this time he won’t have to worry about filing for bankruptcy protection like he did for TVT Records.
